I think my favorite class this semester has been color theory. I have had SOOOO much fun. It also didn't hurt that my teacher is also one of the graphic design teachers and taught us a lot more about the programs. I have LOVED it.This assignment was left up to our own choosing, BUT we had to incorporate 2 color theorist/studies/art movements in our project. Here I have used Goethe's theory on light on how it effects color. That shadow and light are seen as blocks of color. Also is the study of color vs its complimentary color. All colors are redish (some are a bit more orange, but still in the red family) and green - complimentary colors. Also used was Joseph Albers theories of placing light colors next to dark colors. This effect would change the colors appearance and could possibly trick the eye to seeing other colors. Many colors were layered to create the effect.
This was inspired by a photo of my daughter at her ballet dress rehearsal.
