Lori Whitlock Organization project

Today for my project, I did more of an organization project rather than a crafty project. I purchased some chalkboard vinyl and used Lori's "5 Bracket Labels" and cut the green and orange shapes from the vinyl. I did resize them a bit, 2 different sizes out of the orange shape, but wished I would have cut only 1 size. Now that they are on, I wish I would have kept it the original size.

Last week I moved my office into a different room of our house and have been trying to get things organized. I have these different plastic drawers and want to tie them all with everything else. These shapes were a great way to bring in cohesiveness.

I like many different crafts. Thus, I have many storage needs for this room. I have fabric for quilting, paper and embellishments for scrapbooking, software and books for graphic design, and of course the sewing machine and notions for all the other sewing projects that come up.  OH and did I mention I dable in drawing, painting, you know art stuff. I am still working on the organization part so not everything is labeled. I used my white artist chalk to label things and don't recommend it. It crumbles fast and makes fat lines.
These shapes are the green shape in the preview. I use these drawers for photos, large pieces of fabric and other misc products.

The rest of the shapes come from the orange shape. These drawers are perfect for my smaller
quilt projects that I can work on as time sees fit, because it is chalkboard vinyl, I can change the
theme easily.

These drawers are all embellishments that are not stickers or rubons divided by colors.

These shapes are cut even smaller than the others, about 2" wide. These 'drawers' are so cool. They are actually boxes not drawers and I keep all of my papers and stickers for each of these themes. I have a separate album for each of these subjects.

I use Stacy Julians Photo Freedom concept and sort the families extra photos in these drawers. I have a drawer for each family member, so 6 drawers total, 2 sets of these plastic drawers.

Thanks for stopping by.

Some Recent Logo's

I love everything creative and one of the things I do by trade is graphic design, which is another creative outlet. Here are a few of the projects I have been working on this month. I love that they are all different in style and had different needs.

Lori Whitlock October Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the blog hop. You should be coming from Joy's blog at Joy's Life.  If you need help finding others, click on the names on the list below. Your next step is Mendi, but before you leave, let me share with you a little bit of Halloween.
I created this batty border from 2 different bats in Lori's shop. The first comes from the Halloween Embellishment Set 1, and the second bat comes from "Haunted House." This was such an easy project, I almost feel guilty, but it is so cute in my house. I LOVE it.

I cut the bats from a variety of black, grey and turquoise double sided Halloween papers I had in my closet. This made for EASY and quick assembly. I used orange thread and my sewing machine and sewed through each bat, leaving about an inch between each bat. These bats are on a continuous string without any breaks/stops. I alternated the shape and color of the bats as I sewed them on this long string. I then draped the bats between the brackets and went back and forth until I was out of string.

Before you take off, make sure you get your next piece for the Thanksgiving banner here. I am giving away the letter K.

And FINALLY there is an amazing sale going on at Lori's shop today this weekend. Here in Utah, we are celebrating Fall Break and what a great way to celebrate with a fun sale. Lori has offered 30% off at her shop. So head on over and get some great shapes.

DONT FORGET! Lori is giving away a $20 gift card to the shop? Go back to her place and enter if you haven't already done so. After you enter, make sure and head over to Mendi's place.

Spooky Banner

I made this banner to go with all my crazy Halloween decorations this year. I used all Lori Whitlock SVG files. "Build A Banner Set" for the background and "Vintage Font" for the title.

I decorated 2 of the banners with bats from "Halloween Embellishments 1" and "Haunted House" then sewed them in place with orange thread through the center of each bat, then folded on the seam so the wings pop out.

On all of the scallop circles I placed a rhinestone

After cutting the web from the "Spider and Web" I cut it ro fit the banner piece then glittered it.

The skull and cross bones comes from "Halloween Embellishments 2."

Follow instructions for S and P

The spider comes from the "Spider and Web".

Can you see the 3D bats? After all pieces were assembled, I tied banners together with ribbon and tulle then hung from my shelf. Happy Halloween to you!
