Lori Whitlock Christmas Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the blog hop. You should be coming from Joy's blog at Joy's Life.  If you need help finding others, click on the names on the list below. Your next step is Mendi, but before you leave, let me share with you a little bit of Christmas. I know it is early, but if I don't plan this early, it just wont get done.
My kids and I have been talking about doing a "12 Days of Christmas" but haven't quite narrowed it down to the whom yet. I created these bags so we are ready to go, just need to add info such as a rhyme and info on the bag and of course pick a family. I knew I needed it to be easy to add to as we collect things for it this next month so the bag was perfect. I plan to write a poem/rhyme for each day and add it inside the bag with the goodie, or just write the rhyme with a sharpie on the bag. It all depends how ambitious I am that day. The hardest part was choosing the shapes I used. It went together really fast and my daughter and I had a great time working together. I wish Christmas was here, because I am really excited to share this with a favorite family.

Before you take off, make sure you leave a comment for a chance to win a $10 gift card to Lori's amazing shop.

I love her files. In this project I used 10 different files that can be found in her shop, and better yet, they are all on sale this week, so head on over now and get all the shapes you have been drooling over on the hop.

The files include "Number Set 11-12" and "Number Set 1-10," "5 Bracket Shapes with Shadow" (Bag #1), "6 Bracket Labels" (bag #12), "Scalloped Squares,"(Bag #2, 7, and 12)  "Holly," "Christmas Bag Treat Topper,"(bags 4 and 8) "Banner" from the Silhouette store, (bags 3, 5, 6, 9 and 10) and "Treat Pocket" (Bag #11)

While you were hopping, did you go to Lori's site and grab your freebie?

Did you see all her new files. She has some beautiful word art files that were designed square so they will fit perfectly on a ceramic tile and can be given as gifts.

2013 Planner

I am not one for planners, USUALLY, because I use my phone and google calendar to keep our busy lives organized, but the more I work, the more I have needed a planner just for work stuff, deadlines, design ideas, etc. One afternoon when Lori and I were working, we got to talking and this beautiful file was born. I used her "For the Record" papers from Echo Park for my planner. The SVG files are available in her shop and the pdf files are available at jessicasprague.com. This was SO easy to make. It took longer to print the pages than to cut the papers from my Cameo.
This was the perfect thing for me. Mostly it will sit at my desk, organize work deadlines and schedules as well as products/projects I want to create, so it obviously needed to be beautiful and this collection, "For the Record" was the perfect fit. I LOVE these colors together and is a beautiful addition to my room. Also notice, the cover hides ALL the tabs! I LOVE THIS! I hate when you add dividers to your binders and they stick out of the binder GGRRR. These don't. The cover even has slightly rounded corners so they won't get dog eared over the year and won't draw blood, even better, right!

I cut one tabbed divider page and printed 1 set of add ons per month along with the other planner pages that are sold at jessicasprague.com . The SVG files for the cover and dividers are all sold at Lori Whitlock's shop here. It took less then 10 seconds per divider page to cut, did I mention FAST! Even with all those extra pages, my planner is about 1/2" thick, which is pretty average for a yearly planner.

I am going to have mine professionally bound at the local copy shop, but going to take a few of them in because now my daughter is making one and I have a few gifts I am working on as well. These whipped up so fast that I am now making a few extra's to give away.
